Artists’ names are not only limited to working professionals but also to those individuals who work as freelancers. These individuals must also be creative enough to think of a good name that will attract clients and customers, but not so common that it becomes too generic or sounds like another artists name.

Makeup Studio Names
What I’ve noticed is that many names are often derived from the type of products they want to sell. “Shimmer”, “Sparkle” and “Glow” are all words you’ll see over and over again. If you’re having trouble coming up with a name, it might be a good idea to just find a word that best represents what you want to sell and start from there.

Remember not to use any names for your company that are trademarked by other companies – unless you choose to work with them. 100% Makeup is the perfect example of this. It was another company name idea I had, but it is trademarked by an eye makeup company that has no interest in doing business with me or anyone else.

Before Naming a Makeup Artist
- The names should be memorable, creative and potentially goofy. However, I find that cosmetic names often come across as tacky.
- so keep this in mind if you choose to go the unique route. In my experience, a nice balance of serious and funny goes a long way towards press coverage while being memorable enough that people will remember it later on when they want to buy a specific brand of cosmetic.
- Keep in mind, names will vary depending upon the type of cosmetics you’re looking for. Some makeup artists are big on lip products while others focus more on eyeshadows and eyeliners.
- Ultimately the name you choose should represent something that best represents your overall brand or what kind of products you wish to emphasize.
- One thing I’ve noticed is that many people like to make a name by creating an acronym with the initials of their favorite makeup artist.
- This is fine, but there are lots of acronyms out there and it may be more difficult to find one that nobody has used before.
- Since this is such a broad subject I’m only going to touch on some fun and quirky ideas for now.
Conclusion:
How many did you like? I hope that at least one of the Makeup artist names sticks with you for your future character. If nothing else, remember to look up their definition and etymology before you finalize a name. If a girl’s named “Kaycee,” it should mean something, not just sound pretty.
